Train the Trainer Equity Institute
At this time in our country, having conversations about race can be very challenging. Oregon AFSCME wants to train and support our members across the state to have these important and difficult conversations.
To that end, we are training 20 AFSCME members as we launch our council wide Equity Training Institute. Once trained, members will be able to facilitate trainings in their region, local, steward program, or for other council events. Our goal is for members to be better equipped as workplace leaders to be an effective voice for racial justice.
The five-part comprehensive series covers
History of Systematic Racism
Implicit Bias
Microaggressions
Discrimination in the Workplace
Building an Antiracist Union
